Saving Dinner Launching on BigTent

Saving Dinner

Update: Here’s a link to the Saving Dinner group on BigTent: https://www.bigtent.com/groups/savingdinner

We’re excited to announce that beginning February 27th, BigTent will be Saving Dinner’s new online community!

Saving Dinner is making the switch to BigTent so they can deliver their newsletters more efficiently, and to take advantage of BigTent’s robust online community tools.

If you’re already receiving newsletters from Saving Dinner, here’s what you need to know:

  1. Your Saving Dinner newsletters will continue to get delivered without you having to lift a finger.
  2. On February 26th you will receive an invitation to activate your account on BigTent. You do not need to activate your account to continue receiving your newsletters. However, activating your account will allow you to change your subscription settings and participate in the “soon-to-be-launched” Saving Dinner community. (Add no_reply@lists.bigtent.com to your email safe list. This is the email address that the invitation will be sent from.)
  3. On February 27th the Saving Dinner Newsletters will begin being sent from the Saving Dinner BigTent community. The newsletter sender email address will still be LeanneEly@savingdinner.com.

That’s it!

If you have any questions about Saving Dinner’s switch to BigTent or questions about activating your account – feel free to send us an email at support@bigtent.com.

BigTent also has a very strict privacy policy and does not sell, rent or give user information to third parties. Go here (https://www.bigtent.com/privacy) to learn more about BigTent’s privacy policy.

We look forward to the upcoming launch.

We are integrating with BigTent.com to offer more of a sense of community to our subscribers and fans. BigTent.com has so many services and fun stuff to offer, we couldn’t say no to this opportunity! If you listened to my Dinner Diva show today, I talked about the SavingDinner Test Kitchen opportunities that will be opening up for subscribers, as well as forums, articles, a place to put photos of your family eating dinner (or pictures of your freezer stuffed with Freezer Dinner Kits!) and a place to find everything that SavingDinner.com has to offer. We are thrilled to be able to do all of this with BigTent and it’s FREE for our subscribers! Keep watching how we develop and bring new and great things to you all the time through our interface with BigTent…all I can tell you is it’s going to be GREAT!

Is there any way to “opt out” of certain marketing messages? As I am a born and bred metric girl, I have no interest in the endless marketing emails (and there is at least one a day!) about buying the Saving Dinner products. Just thinking about converting from imperial to metric gives me a headache!

I’m so excited to see Leanne and Saving Dinner on Big Tent! I’ve enjoyed many of the other Big Tent communities and look forward to participating in the Saving Dinner community. Leanne’s Menu Mailer and Saving Dinner books have been such a blessing – I’ve even used the Basics book to help my son learn to cook for himself while he is in graduate school – I tell him he’s a “Diner Diva” in training (LOL). I can’t wait to meet new friends in the Saving Dinner community here.

Hey, I think this sounds like fun. Looking forward to reading and exchanging tips!

  7. 7 Leanne February 27, 2009 at 4:54 pm

    Natalie,

You can totally opt out, no big deal. Send us an email and consider it done!

  8. 8 Natalie February 27, 2009 at 5:31 pm

But it’s only the marketing emails I don’t want. Is that possible? The rest are fine. Just today I had that option to unsubscribe from marketing emails and I did just that, without affecting the rest of the emails that are sent out.

Aggh! I was just getting used to your new website, and I have not been able to access any of my meal plans since you switched over. Now you’re switching again! It looks like a cool website, but will I be able to get my orders?

leanne – i have loved the menus and im sure i will love this sight. i agree that the print is too light. hope you can change that. i don’t even know where the menus are now, but will find them when you send them i hope! so if we want to re-order do we go to the saving dinner site as before???

    thanks for improving your system.

I cannot access my menus from Big Tent. Where are they?

  12. 12 Nikki March 24, 2009 at 7:57 am

    Hi Everyone,

The menus are now loaded under the file tab. There was some confusion (my bad) on where to load the files. It is fixed now.

A few of you have commented on yet another move for Saving Dinner. We are very frustrated with our current site and have been for a while now. We are working hard to improve it and this is one of the many reasons we have moved to BigTent with our Menu-Mailer subscriptions. Once you see how easy it is to get to your menus we think you are going to LOVE it!!

Go ahead and click on the file tab now. If you are subscribed your menu for this week will be there. :-)

    Pattycar,
Please email me directly at nikki@savingdinner.com and I’ll be happy to help you with your menu subscription. :-)

Where will I go to access the archives? I do not store the menus on my computer, so I rely on finding them online. Will that still be possible?

  15. 15 Nicole March 25, 2009 at 4:30 pm

I can’t get my menus. I normally grocery shop online on Wednesday nights and it looks like I can’t now. Not to mention, I e-mailed a question about the Baby Food Mailer about a month ago and got no response. I’m not impressed.

  16. 16 Nikki March 25, 2009 at 4:49 pm

    Hi Elaine,

We recommend that you do save your menus to your own computer for future access. However, if you want to rely on accessing them online you’ll just need to save those emails each Tuesday with the link to the menus and you’ll always have access to them. :-)

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Hi Nicole,
I can email the menu to you right away. Just send me an email directly to nikki@savingdinner.com. With your email address I will also be able to double check and make sure you’re all set up for the Menu-Mailers in Big Tent. I can also help you out with the Baby Food menu. :-) I just need to know what you asked. I’ll be watching for your email.
    With smiles,

I am glad I read thru the above. I am frustrated by yet another move because the reason was not explained in the promotion. So now that I understand that it is because you weren’t happy is why we’re being moved to Big Tent has reduced my concern about the whole thing.
